ISO 26000 Developing Country Workshop held

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) organized ISO 26000 international workshop. The theme of the workshop was the importance and implementation of ISO 26000:2010, Guidance for Social Responsibility, two years after its publication (1.11.2011).

Visit of International Monetary Fund Mission

On 08.11.2012 Mr. Alexis Meyer-Cirkel, representative of the IMF mission, visited the Institute for standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Mission visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to hold talks with BiH authorities within the first review of Stand-by Arrangement.

Seminar “Training of personnel in the domain of explosion protection for electrical and non-electrical equipment and installations”

From 05.11. to 09.11.2012 in Tuzla, The Faculty of Electrical Engineering from Tuzla and Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina jointly organized a seminar “Training of personnel in the domain of explosion protection for electrical and non-electrical equipment and installations”. The seminar was opened by the Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Alexander Cincar and professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Tuzla, Ph.D. Vlado Madžarević.

76th IEC General Meeting

From  01 to 05 October 2012, in Oslo (Norway), 76th Annual Meeting of IEC was held. Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee (NEK) hosted all events under the protection of His Majesty King Harald V. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute for Standardization, and Mirjana Šućur, Secretary General of BAKE represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the General Assembly.  

WORKSHOP „ISO/IEC 27001 – INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM“

Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and within ISO Tecnical assistence to developing countries has organized a worshop „ISO/IEC 27001 – Information Security Management System“ from 26 to 28 September 2012.

Sarajevo Halal Forum 2012 - SAHAF

First International Halal Forum - SAHAF was held from 27 to 29 September 2012 at the premises of the business center UNITIC hosted by the Agency for Halal Quality Certification and Sarajevo Fair. SAHAF forum is the central international scientific symposium of eminent representatives from the field of Halal, as well as economic, governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations.

35th General Assembly of the International Organization for Standardization ISO

From 17 to 22 September 2012, in San Diego, California 35th General Assembly of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was held, hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).  In the work of the Assembly Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute and Mr. Miljan Savic, expert for standardization in ISO/CEN area also participated as representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Plenary session of ISO/TC 34 - Food products

From 23 to 27 April 2012,  the plenary session of the ISO / TC 34 - Food products was held as well as ISO/DEVCO regional workshops for developing countries in Nairobi, Kenya, on “Standards contribution to the food sector in Africa.” At the initiative of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with the consent of the Technical committee for food BAS/TC 43, this session was attended by Biljana Balaj, expert at the Institute.

22nd Plenary session of the ISO/TC 34/SC 12 - Working group for sensory analysis

From 19 to 20 April 2012,  in the French city of Toulouse, 22nd Plenary Session of the ISO/TC 34/SC 12 - Working group for sensory analysis was held. At the initiative of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at  the recommendation of the Technical committee for food BAS/TC 43, this session was attended by PhD Midhat Jasic, full professor at the Technological University of Tuzla.

Baku - ISO Forum

A forum for ISO CEOs of national standards bodies from Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia was held from 18 to 20 June in Baku, Azerbaijan. Forum was hosted by AZSTAND - State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The 38th CEN General Assembly and the 52nd CENELEC General Assembly

The 38th CEN General Assembly and the 52nd CENELEC General Assembly were held in Bulgarian town Albena from 06 to 08 June 2012. Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director General and Mr. Sead Bekic, Deputy Director of the Institute.
