Students of the University of Zenica won third prize at the ICSS World Cup 2025, an international standards development competition organised and led by Mojdeh Rowshan Tabari, former Chair of the ISO DEVCO Committee.

A total of 900 students from various countries around the world registered for this international competition in April this year. Of these, 205 students established 41 student technical committees covering different fields, with eight technical committees qualifying for the final round of the competition.

The technical committee established by students of the University of Zenica as part of the Standardization course in the second cycle of studies developed standard ICS 20262, Climate Change — Carbon Footprint of Wood Chips for the Pulp and Paper Industry — Requirements and Methodology for Quantification. The standard underwent a rigorous evaluation process, which also included consultation with the corresponding technical committee of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BAS/TC 7, Environment. The committee gave a positive opinion on the standard prepared by the students and left open the possibility of its adoption as an official Bosnia and Herzegovina standard.

The award-winning students are Merjem Mujezinović, Šejla Đelilović, Senida Ahmetspahić and Safet Imamović from the Faculty of Polytechnic Engineering, and Neira Hrvić from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
