The new BiH standard in the field structural design adopted by translation method

BAS EN 1990: 2014, Eurocode - Basis of structural design (EN 1990: 2002 + A1: 2005 + A1: 2005 / AC: 2010)

BAS EN 1990: 2014: 2014, second edition, is identical with EN 1990: 2002, Eurocode - Basis of structural design, with amendment A1 from 2005 and amendment correction A1/AC from 2010. The original text of the standard was prepared by CEN/TC 250, Structural Eurocodes, secretariat of which is held by BSI.

BAS EN 1990 establishes principles and requirements for the safety, serviceability and durability of structures, describes the basis for their design and verification and gives guidelines for related aspects of structural reliability.

EN 1990 is intended to be used in conjunction with BAS EN 1991 and BAS EN 1999, for the structural design of buildings and civil engineering works, including geotechnical aspects, structural fire design, situations involving earthquakes, execution and temporary structures.

BAS EN 1990 is applicable for the design of structures where other materials or other actions outside the scope of BAS EN 1991 to BAS EN 1999 are involved, and for the structural appraisal of existing construction, in developing the design of repairs and alterations or in assessing change of use.

BAS EN 1990 is intended to be used by the standard drafting committees for both structural design and related product, testing and execution standards, as well as clients, designers, contractors and relevant authorities.

This standard replaces BAS EN 1990: 2003, Eurocode - Basis of structural design, and its amendment BAS EN 1990/A1: 2007 and the amendment correction BAS EN 1990/A1/Cor1: 2010.

The translation of the standard BAS EN 1990: 2014 was prepared by the technical committee BAS/TC 58, Eurocodes, of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it will be published in the Bulletin of the Institute no. 3-4/2014.
