7th meeting of the General Assembly of SMIIC and the 9th Board of Directors meeting of SMIIC were held in Istanbul, Turkey, from 19 to 20 November 2014. The meeting was hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat whose headquarters are in the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE).

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Member States who have membership in the SMIIC GA: Afghanistan, Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Iran, Jordan, Cameroon, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Suriname, Senegal, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Northern Cyprus.

Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Cote D’Ivore, SMIIC Accreditation Committee (AC), Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO), Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and COMCEC Coordination Office were represented at the Meeting as observers.

The delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been granted observer status, consisted of the Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Cincar, and the Director of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amir Sakić.

The 8th meeting of the General Assembly of SMIIC and the 10th meeting of the Board of Directors of SMIIC is planned in April or May 2015. Host of the meeting will be determined later.
