It consists of supersaturated ferrite in which carbon has been finely precipitated in the form of carbide.
One generally distinguishes between:
- upper bainite which is formed at higher temperatures in the interval described above;
- lower bainite which is formed at lower temperatures in the interval described above

Metastabilni konstituent formiran sa raspadom austenita u temperaturnom intervalu izmeðu temperature na kojoj se formira perlit i one na kojoj se počinje javljati martenzit.
Sastoji se od prezasićenog ferita u kojem je ugljik konačno precipitirao u obliku karbida.
Općenito se razlikuje:
- gornji beinit koji se formira na višim temperaturama u intervalu koji je gore opisan.
- donji beinit koji se formira na nižim temperaturama u gore opisanom intervalu.
