Conference on “Quality Management - an instrument for better public administration”
On 27 October 2015, in Sarajevo, a conference on “Quality Management - instruments for better public administration” was organized under the auspices of the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office (PARCO) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and in cooperation with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).
The conference was an opportunity to present the activities regarding the reform and the introduction of quality management systems in public institutions within the Program for strengthening public institutions - SPI supported by GIZ.
Public administration reform is one of the key criteria in the European integration process, which is conducted in accordance with the adopted Public Administration Reform Strategy and Action Plan. Establishing quality management system is one of the goals of the action plan for implementation of the adopted strategy.
Within the conference two models for the establishment of the quality management system in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented:
- CAF (Common Assessment Framework) model; and
- Establishment of a management system in accordance with ISO 9001;
During the conference, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of quality management was signed between the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BAS), the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office (PARCO) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The agreement was signed by Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, director of the Institute, Mr. dr. Dragan Ćuzulan, coordinator for public administration reform and Mr. Reinhard Luke, program manager of the “Program for strengthening public institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
