During the Forum four sessions were held: Halal as a system of values, Halal market, Halal standards and technologies, panel discussion.

In addition to professional subjects that were elaborated by the most eminent experts in the field of Halal, the  goal of this Forum was also to enable Halal certified manufacturers and service providers to represent their experiences in the field of Halal products and services. Producers from the region, Turkey, Malaysia, Russia, and countries from the Middle East also participated at the Forum.

The main conclusion is that the Halal principles can be applied in various industries such as food, drugs, cosmetics, catering and tourism, and that Halal production and services provide great economic opportunities for manufacturers from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by the Deputy Director of the Institute Sead Bekić and experts Biljana Balaj and Tatjana Vidovic. Deputy Director held a presentation on the role and importance of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the role of the Institute in the development of the generic Halal standard BAS 1049:2010.
