9th Quality Conference in BiH

9th Quality Conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina “Quality and Social Responsibility” was held in Vitez from 13-14 November 2014. The conference was organized by Association for Quality in Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with Business magazine (Poslovne novine).

 

Quality Conference is part of the project “Improvement of the quality culture in BiH and the National Quality Award”. Council of Ministers instructed the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations to support the implementation of this project whose partners were Association of Quality in BiH and Privredna štampa d.o.o Sarajevo.

 

The conference was held within the World Quality Day. Also, on this occasion the European Organization for Quality (EOQ) celebrates the European Quality Week in order to raise awareness, promote and demonstrate the benefits and importance of quality for the competitiveness of the European economy.

 

Topics of this year's conference are: Quality in education, regulated area and New Approach Directives, conformity of products and factory production control, GS mark in the wood processing sector, implementation of international standards in the food production and distribution and health care quality.

The conference was attended by Mr. Goran Tešanović, assistant director for conformity assessment at the Institute for Standardization and Mr. Miljan Savić, senior advisor at the Institute. Mr. Tešanović held an introductory lecture on EU technical regulations - New Approach Directives, and was also a keynote speaker and moderator of the roundtable Topicality in the field of conformity assessment, which took place on the first day of the conference.

 

The conference is an excellent opportunity for all stakeholders to meet and exchange experiences regarding the quality system, from directors and owners of the companies, quality managers, consultants, to organizations and institutions that participate in the implementation of quality management system.

Directors of large companies had the opportunity to check why a regulated quality management system becomes a ticket to success at the regional and international level. Owners of small and medium-sized enterprises could find out from experiences of other stakeholders how quality of their services and products may be the ticket to success in the domestic and especially in the foreign market. In the end, they all get a chance to enter the competition for the National Quality Award.
