Abstract
This standard establishes the requirements for pedals where used for the control of travelling and braking motions of self-propelled industrial trucks as defined below. Trucks may be equipped with additional pedals for auxiliary functions. The layout of these pedals is not specified by this standard but should be arranged in such a way that they do not hinder the operation of pedals covered by this standard. This standard shall apply to self-propelled sit-down rider-controlled industrial trucks, the capacity of which does not exeed 10,000 kilograms, and to tractors with a draw-bar pull of less than 20,000 Newtons. For the purpose of this standard, self-propelled industrial truck means any wheeled vehicle other than those running on rails, that is designed to carry, tow, push, lift, stack or tier in racks, any kind of load and is controlled by an operator seated on a non-elevating platform.
