At Zenica trade show (ZEPS 2014), Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized an expert lecture on “Application of the latest standards in the metal industry”, which was held on 01 October 2014.

Expert lecture was organized with the aim of introducing businessmen to the standardization process in Bosnia and Herzegovina and adopted BAS standards in the field of metal industry into the standardization system of BiH.

Gathered businessmen were informed about BAS standards in the following areas:

• Standards and standardization in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
• Standards for mechanical elements,
• Standardization of welding quality assurance,
• Standards for pressure equipment and
• Standards related to the safety of machinery.

Speakers at the conference were:

• BSc.Tihomir Anđelić, head of Department for standardization ISO/CEN,
• BSc. Miljan Savić, senior advisor for standardization and
• Assistant Professor Ismar Hajro, chairman of the technical committee BAS/TC 41- Pressure vessels and containers and a member of the technical committee BAS/TC 2- Welding and allied processes.

This was also an opportunity to meet and invite businessmen to get involved in the activities of BiH standardization as key stakeholders in the process of preparing, adoption and publication of BAS standards.
