Study Visit of the Delegation of the Czech Republic to the Institute for Standardization of BiH

Representatives of the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMZ) Mr. Miroslav Chloupek, Ms. Jindra Kafková and Ms. Klára Popadičová, and Czech experts for the development of national annexes for snow and wind Ph.D. Jana Markova, expert associate of the Czech Technical University and Dr. Luboš Němec, representative of the Hydrometeorological Institute of the Czech Republic, as well as an expert for the development of national annexes for seismic actions, Ph.D. Ivan Prachar. are paying a study visit to the Institute for Standardization of BiH from 31 October 2016 until 2 November 2016, which is organized within the project “Support to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of application of Eurocodes”.

 

 

On the first day of the study visit an Donation agreement and the Declaration of donation of  software application for effective record-keeping of the process of certification was signed by the director of the Institute for Standardization of BiH, director of the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing and Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

 

On the second day presentation and discussion on the preparation of the Manual for implementation of Eurocodes was held as well as meetings with BiH experts, members of working groups involved  in the development of national annexes for snow and wind.

 

 

For the last day of the study visit meetings with BiH experts, members of working groups involved in the development of national annexes for seismic actions were planned.

 

 

During 2015 and the first half of 2016 37 standards (Eurocodes, total of 3105 pages) was translated and reviewed on the basis of the project “Support to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of application of Eurocodes”. We are currently translating and reviewing 9 standards (total of 677 pages) that will be completed by mid-December 2016. The process of digitizing snow and seismic data is also underway, which is jointly developed by the Hydrometeorological institutes of the Entities which are required for the development of national annexes to Eurocode 1 part 1-3 (snow) and Eurocode 8 part 1 (seismic actions). At the end of the year, the process of digitizing wind data that are required for the development of national annexes to Eurocode 1 part 1-4 (wind) will begin.
