Study visit of the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Prague
From 23 to 28 March 2015, the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, consisting of PhD Azra Kurtović from the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Sarajevo, Associate professor Rašid Hadžović from the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Mostar, Tihomir Anđelić and Nihada Kulenović from the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, paid a study visit to the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (UNMZ) which was organized within the project “Support to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of implementation of Eurocodes”.
Members of the delegation were given useful information on key issues in standardization, like organization of standardization in the Czech Republic, participation in CEN and ISO meetings etc. The delegation had the opportunity to be present at the session of the Czech Technical Committee TNK 35 - Steel structures.
The delegation visited the Czech Development Agency which founded this project. CzDA briefly presented its development cooperation to the BiH delegation, which is based on the “Development cooperation programme between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic 2011-2017”. During this period development cooperation is focused on sharing experiences and assisting in capacity building for accession negotiations and later membership in the EU, and the acceptance of legislation and technical assistance.
In addition, the delegation visited Klokner Institute and hear a presentation by PhD. Jana Markova, an associate of the Czech Technical University, at the Klokner Institute (http://www.klok.cvut.cz/en) regarding national annexes to Eurocodes.
Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, led by Dr. Luboš Němec, hosted the BiH delegation and presented its experiences during the development of specific maps, which are an integral part of individual national annexes.
