The second edition of the BiH standard BAS EN ISO 22301: 2021, Security and resilience - Business continuity management systems - Requirements, adopted by the translation method through the BiH Technical Committee BAS/TC 59, Societal security and protection, has been published.

BAS EN ISO 22301: 2021 specifies requirements to implement, maintain and improve management systems to protect against, reduce the likelihood of the occurrence of, prepare for, respond to and recover from disruptions when they arise.

The requirements specified in this document are generic and intended to be applicable to all organizations, or parts thereof, regardless of type, size, and nature of the organization. The extent of application of these requirements depends on the organization’s operating environment and complexity.

Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a holistic management process that identifies potential threats to an organization and the impacts on business operations those threats. This approach provides an organizational framework for building organizational resilience to identified threats, with the ability for an effective response that safeguards the interests of its key stakeholders, reputation, brand, and value-creating activities.

The Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) is a part of the overall management system that establishes, implements, monitors, maintains and improves business continuity.

Organizations may be certified in accordance with the requirements of the standard BAS EN ISO 22301: 2021 by accredited certification bodies and thus prove their compliance with the requirements of this standard.
