The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through its Technical Committee BAS/TC 56, Conventional and Alternative Electricity Sources, has adopted the second edition of BAS EN 61400-1: 2019, Wind turbines - Part 1: Design requirements by the translation method.

BAS EN 61400-1: 2019 specifies essential design requirements to ensure the structural integrity of wind turbines. Its purpose is to provide an appropriate level of protection against damage from all hazards during the planned lifetime.

This standard is concerned with all subsystems of wind turbines (wind turbine + generator) such as control and protection functions, internal electrical systems, mechanical system and support structures. It applies to wind turbines of all sizes. For small wind turbines, BAS EN 61400-2: 2016 can be applied.
