The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina has published the first edition of the BiH standard BAS EN 16325+A1:2023, Guarantees of origin related to energy - Guarantees of origin for electricity.

The purpose of this European standard is to contain the standardization of guarantees of origin (GO) in accordance with relevant directives and existing voluntary schemes, with the aim of creating standardized, transferable GO that can be used to facilitate the disclosure of the origin of energy to its final customer and also to support labeling schemes. GO is an instrument for proving the origin of supplied energy to a final customer.

There is a growing demand from final customers for energy that can be reliably certified. Additionally, electricity suppliers are required for to provide reliable disclosure information to final customers. A standardized GO system can meet these requirements.
