Cooperation Agreement with Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH

The agreement on cooperation between the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chamber of Commerce of Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed on May 20, 2015 in Sarajevo by Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, director of the Institute and Dr. Sc. Marko Šantić, president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH.

 

The agreement was signed in order to strengthen mutual cooperation and maintain a high level of competence and quality of service of the members of the Chamber of Commerce of FBiH, as well as to facilitate more numerous and more active participation of representatives of the association’s members, operating under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce of FBiH, in the work of technical committees and other expert bodies of the Institute. In addition, the Agreement enables further improvement and harmonization of the national standardization system with the international and European systems as well as harmonization of national standards and related documents with the relevant international and European documents in the field of conformity assessment.

 

Special emphasis of the Agreement is placed on the preparation and organization of courses, seminars, meetings, conferences, round tables and other forms of education in the field of standardization and quality infrastructure.

By signing this Agreement, the Institute has continued to strengthen its stakeholder engagement practices in order to promote the importance and the effect of the implementation of national standards and related documents, as well as promoting the role and importance of standardization and conformity assessment in the implementation of technical and other regulations, and establishing better regulatory practices.

 

The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue with similar activities in the future. The plan is to sign an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska. In addition, the plan is to strengthen cooperation with the academic community of Bosnia and Herzegovina by signing and implementing similar agreements with universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
