Seminar “Building the future – Eurocodes”

Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BAS) and the Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing of the Czech Republic (ÚNMZ) jointly organized a seminar “Building the future – Eurocodes” on 3 March 2017 at the hotel Termag, Jahorina.

 

The seminar was organized as a result of technical assistance through the project “Assistance to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the implementation of Eurocodes”, funded by the Czech Republic via the Czech Development Agency (CDA).

 

Experts from the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina acquainted the participants of the seminar with the existing flow of the project, the future development of Eurocodes, implementation of Eurocodes in accordance with the requirements for conformity assessment of construction products, and the development of maps for weather impact. Participants were also acquainted with the current situation in relation to legislation concerning implementation of Eurocodes.

 

 

We presented an interactive map that will be used with the National Annex EN 1991-1-5/NA for  calculation of temperature loads for buildings design in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this occasion, a contract regarding donation of electronic version of the interactive map that was created as a result of the work of Czech and Bosnian experts was signed.

 

During the seminar the participants were addressed by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Jakub Skalník, Vice president of ÚNMZ, Mr. Miroslav Chloupek, experts from the Czech Republic: Mr. Martin Stříž, Mrs. Jana Marková and Mr. Lubomír Keim, President of BAS/TC 58, Mr. Sanin Džidić,  Assistant Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mr. Dragan Milović and Director and Deputy Director of the Institute for standardization of BiH Mr. Aleksandar Cincar and Mr. Borislav Kraljević.

 

 

Participants at the seminar were representatives of state and entity ministries and institutions, representatives of the Government of Brčko District, representatives of Hydro-meteorological and Geological Institutes of the Entities, BiH construction companies, civil engineering faculties in BiH, and a representative of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia and representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia.
