7th Balkan Standardization Conference

The Seventh Balkan Conference on Standardization was held from 16 to 18 May, in Sofia, and was hosted by the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization (BDS). Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute and Borislav Kraljević, Deputy Director.

 

 

The Conclusions from the 6th  Balkan Conference held in Antalya from 2 to 4 November 2017, as well as information on the 1st  Balkan IT Conference for business platforms in standardization, which was held in March in Skopje were discussed at this year's conference. The Rules of Procedure for organizing the Balkan Standardization Conference Series were also discussed.

 

 

A very important topic of this year's Balkan conference was the Rules, procedures, guides and quality management system documents, including the self-assessment exercise, combined with EN ISO 9001 certification.

 

 

 

The cooperation between the national standardization bodies and the universities was also discussed, and the cooperation between the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization and the Technical University in Sofia was presented as an example of good practice.

 

 

The participants agreed that the host of the 8th Balkan Standardization Conference will be the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro (ISME).
