In accordance with the requirements of EU Regulation No. 1025/2012 governing the European standardization system, each European and national standardization body shall, at least once a year, establish its own work programme that shall contain information on the standards and other standardization deliverables wich the European and national standardization body intends to prepare or amend, which it is preparing or amending and which it has adopted in the previous period.

Those national standardization bodies which have accepted the WTO TBT Code of Good Practice for the Preparation, Adoption and Application of Standards are under the obligation to publish their Work Programme. The acceptance of the Code of Good Practice is laid down in the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade.
