Visit of the delegation of the Institute for standardization to DIN

  From 03- 05 April 2012, the delegation of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina consisted of Alexander Cincar, Edina Tanovic, Goran Tesanovic, Jasmina Ljubuncic and Dragan Lucic, paid a study visit to the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), organized within the Twinning project “Support to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Meetings which were held during the visit were also attended by Mr. Ivelin Burov (BDS), Resident Twinning Advisor, and Ms. Kaiser Siglinde (DIN), Team Coordinator.

Members of the delegation got useful information on key standardization issues, such as the manner of organizing standardization in Germany, involvement of stakeholders, administration of CEN and ISO Secretariat, as well as procedures for notification and information.

DIN also introduced the delegation with a two members of its group: DIN CERTCO - certification body and DIN Software - a leading company in providing information on standards were also presented.

Furthermore, representatives of the Institute visited the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and on this occasion discussed the role and procedures of WTO/TBT with the representatives of ministries.

Director Cincar said that the visit was very useful and that all gained experiences will be used to strengthen the BAS and to obtain the full membership in CEN/CENELEC.
