Visit of the Delegation of European Commission

  On 19 March 2012 the delegation of the European Commission led by Ms. Friederike Wuenschmann from the Directorate General for Enlargement visited the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina  

 

The visit was organized as part of the fourth meeting of the Sub-Committee on Trade, Industry, Customs, Taxation and Cooperation with other candidate countries, held on 20 and 21 March 2012. In addition to the visit and discussions with the representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Commission had a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Chambers of Commerce of BiH, Institute for Metrology of BiH, Institute for Accreditation of BiH and the Market Surveillance Agency.

Meetings and visits were organized in order to discuss the overall development strategy regarding quality infrastructure, public-private dialogue related to market demands, and the horizontal coordination mechanisms in these areas.

Beside the representatives of the Institute, headed by the Director Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Directorate for European Integration and the Republic Institute for Standardization and Metrology of Republic of Srpska.

At a meeting of the Sub-Committee on Trade, Industry, Customs, Taxation and Cooperation with other candidate countries, held on 20 March 2012, the progress of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the previous year was positively evaluated. The good coordination between the Institute and the Republic Institute for Standardization and Metrology of Republic of Srpska was particularly highlighted.
