Support to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina

In this context, the project aims to improve transparency and access to information about the development of standards at national, European and international levels, as well as improving information systems for standardization to be compatible with international and European standards organizations.

Aiming at better implementation of the project and involvement of stakeholders, the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with representatives of the Consortium, which consists of the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification - AENOR, German Institute for Standardization - DIN, Bulgarian Institute for Standardization - BDS, had organized presentations for:

  • institutions of quality infrastructure;
  • ministries and other governmental bodies;
  • businessmen, with the support of Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H.

On 30 November 2011 presentations were held at the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on 1 December 2011 in Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina friendship building as well as in the premises of Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H.

Presentations of the Twinning project “Support to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, in behalf of the Consortium, were held by Mr. Francisco Verdera Mari, leader of the Twinning project (representative of AENOR), Mr. Ivelin Burov, Resident Twinning Advisor (Chairman of the Managing Board of the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization - BDS) and  Mr. Goran Tesanovic, project leader of the beneficiary countries from the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina,.

The moderator was Ms. Edina Tanovic, RTA partner, Assistant Director for standards.

Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina also addressed the audience.

Kick off Meeting was held on 2 December 2011 in the premises of EU Delegation, where a program of the Project was presented. Attendees were addressed by representatives of the diplomatic corps: Mr. Toribio de Prado, Spain's Deputy Ambassador to B&H Mr. Nikolay Kolev, Charge d'Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Florian Burkhardt, Economic Attaché of the German Embassy in B&H.

Mr. Johann Hesse, Head of EU Delegation Operations Section for Economic Development, Natural Resources and Infrastructure in B&H, also gave a welcome speech, as well as Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During this event, presentations were given by Mr. Francisco Verdera Mari, Mr. Ivelin Burov and Mr. Goran Tesanovic.
