On its constituting session held on 28 November 2013, in the premises of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a technical committee BAS/TC 58, Eurocodes was established.

After a brief discussion at the meeting, the members of the technical committee BAS/TC 58  determined the scope of work of the technical committee, which is:

“The standardization of the structural design rules for building and civil engineering works, taking into account the relationship between design rules and the assumptions to be made for construction products, execution and control”.

BAS/TC 58 will monitor the work of the European Technical Committee CEN/TC 250 - Structural Eurocodes.
 
Assit. Prof . Dr. Sanin Dzidic, from the International BURCH University, was elected as the president of the technical committee and Nihada Kulenovic, BSc. from the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a technical secretary and coordinator.

 
The Institute has recognized the importance of translation and adoption of the Eurocodes and the development of national annexes, and decided to establish this committee. Eurocodes will improve the quality of products and services and create new business opportunities in the construction sector. The European Commission has issued an mandate in 2010 that all Member States should fully implement the Eurocodes.
