At the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the constituting meeting held on 16th October 2013, a technical committee BAS/TC 55, Social Responsibility was established.

After a brief discussion at the meeting, the members of the technical committee BAS/TC 55 accepted the scope of the technical committee. BAS/TC 55 will monitor the work of the international technical committee ISO/TMB in the field of social responsibility.

Vanja Jovanovic, MSc European Studies, the Center CRSPlus, Sarajevo was elected as the president of the technical committee. Technical secretary and coordinator is B.Sc.Tihomir Andjelic, from the Institute for Standardization of BiH.

The Institute has recognized the importance of social responsibility, which ISO itself set as the key subject, and decided to establish this committee in order to contribute to a better understanding and implementation of the principles of social responsibility in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The European Commission in its new strategy for corporate social responsibility (“New policy on Corporate Social Responsibility”, 2011) also recommended the use of the international standard ISO 26000, Social responsibility.
