Within the implementation of the project „Support of capacities of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of implementation of Eurocodes“ a joint meeting of the representatives of the Institute for Standardization of BiH, Federal Hydrometeorological Institute and Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Republic of Srpska was held at the premises of the Institute for Standardization of BiH on 21 April 2015. The aim of the meeting was to elaborate necessary maps for national annexes to the Eurocodes (NA), namely: snow load map, basic wind velocity map, highest and lowest temperatures maps and seismic maps. The role of the Hydrometeorological Institutes of the Entities during these activities is significant since the accurate hydrometeorological data are the basis for elaboration of necessary maps.

National annexes to the Eurocodes are one of the basis for the activities of designers for the calculation of building structures and civil engineering works in order to ensure their mechanical resistance and stability as well as fire safety.

This cooperation is important for all stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina since the development of national annexes to Eurocodes with related maps will be the basis for the implementation of Eurocodes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Cooperation regarding mentioned activities will continue in the future.
