The new, eighth edition of BiH standard BAS EN 590 + A1: 2018, Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods has been published. The standard is taken over by translation method of European standard EN 590: 2013 + A1: 2017, Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods.

European Standard EN 590: 2013 + A1: 2017 has been prepared by the European Technical Committee CEN/TC 19, Gasoues and Liquid Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products of Petroleum, Synthetic and Biological Origin, whose Secretariat is held by NEN (Netherlands Standardiyation Institute). The standard was taken over by BiH Technical Committee BAS/TC 11, Petroleum and Petroleum Products.

BiH standard BAS EN 590 + A1: 2018 specifies requirements and test methods for marketed and delivered automotive diesel fuel. It is applicable to automotive diesel fuel for use in diesel engine vehicles designed to run on automotive diesel fuel containing up to 7% (V/V) Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME). A new system for marketing diesel fuel at dispensing pumps was introduced in accordance with the requirements of the standard BAS EN 16942.

BiH standard BAS EN 590 + A1: 2018 also contains National Annexes which define the national requirements for:

• Taking samples;
• Climatic conditions.
