BAS ISO 13756:2025, Jewellery and precious metals – Determination of silver – Potentiometry method using sodium chloride or potassium chloride (ISO 13756:2024, IDT) has just been published

The third edition of the BiH standard BAS ISO 13756:2025 is a translation of the International Standard ISO 13756:2024, Jewellery and precious metals — Determination of silver — Potentiometry using sodium chloride or potassium chloride (ISO 13756:2024, IDT).

The original text of the International Standard was prepared by ISO/TC 174, Jewellery and precious metals.

This document specifies a volumetric method for the determination of silver on a material considered homogeneous. The silver content of the sample lies preferably between (100 and 999.0) parts per thousand (‰) by mass. Fineness above 999.0 ‰ can be determined using a spectroscopy method by difference (e.g. ISO 15096).

This method is intended to be used as a reference method for the determination of fineness in jewellery alloys covered by ISO 9202.

This BiH standard supersedes and replaces BAS ISO 13756:2017, Jewellery — Determination of silver in silver jewellery alloys — Volumetric (potentiometric) method using sodium chloride or potassium chloride.

The BiH standard BAS ISO 13756:2025 was prepared by the Technical Committee BAS/TC 38, Metrology and measurements.
