New BiH standard BAS EN ISO 22301: 2016 published by translation method

The first edition of Bosnia and Herzegovina standard BAS EN ISO 22301: 2016, Societal security - Business continuity management systems – Requirements has been published, adopted by translation of European standard EN ISO 22301: 2014, Societal security - Business continuity management systems - Requirements, which is identical to the international standard ISO 22301: 2012. Standard is taken over by BiH Technical Committee BAS/TC 59, Social security and protection.

 

BiH standard BAS EN ISO 22301: 2016 for business continuity management specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood  of occurrence, prepare for, response to, and recover  from disruptive incidents when they arise.

 

Business Continuity Management (BCM Business Continuity Management) is an holistic management process that identifies potential threats to an organization and the impacts on potential threats. This approach provides a framework for building organizational resilience with the capability of an effective response that safeguards the interests of its key stakeholders,reputation, brand and value-creating activities.

 

Business continuity management system (BCMS) is part of the overall management system that establishes, implements, monitors, reviews, maintains and improves business continuity. Each organization needs to establish a business continuity management which represents a key process to ensure continuity of business process.

 

Organizations can be certified in accordance with the requirements of BAS EN ISO 22301: 2016 by an accredited certifying body, and thus prove their compliance with the requirements of this standard.
