In their welcome speech, the audience was addressed by Mr. Borislav Kraljević, deputy director of the Institute for Standardization and Mr. Bruno Bojić, president of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH. This was an opportunity to present detailed information on the infrastructure quality, the role of the Institute for Standardization in the standardization process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the role and importance of standards and standardization in the technical regulations and conformity assessment.

Since 1970, World Standards Day is celebrated internationally each year on 14 October, to pay tribute to the efforts of thousands of experts who collaborate within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to develop voluntary International Standards.

National standards bodies around the world carry out various activities to commemorate this day. On the basis of the signed agreement on cooperation with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized such an event for the first time hoping that it will eventually grow and develop and become traditional.
