The new edition of standard for bodies operating certification of persons

BAS EN ISO/IEC 17024:2015, Conformity assessment - General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons [ISO/IEC 17024: 2012, Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services (ISO/IEC 17024: 2012, IDT)]

 

New third edition of Bosnia and Herzegovina standard BAS EN ISO/IEC 17024: 2015 has been published in a bilingual version (Serbian and English). This standard is adopted as a translation of EN ISO/IEC 17024: 2012, Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services.

 


ISO/IEC 17024: 2012 was developed by ISO/CASCO, Committee on conformity assessment, in collaboration with European Technical Committee CEN/CLC/TC 1, Criteria for conformity assessment bodies, and was approved by European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) as EN ISO/IEC 17024: 2012.

 

ISO/IEC 17024: 2012 defines the requirements and principles for bodies certifying persons against specific requirements, and includes the development and maintenance of certification scheme for persons. Certification of persons is one means of providing assurance that the certified person meets the requirements of the certification schemes. Confidence in the respective certification schemes for persons is achieved by means of globally accepted process of assessment, follow-up  monitoring and periodic re-assessment of the competence of certified persons.

 

BAS EN ISO/IEC 17024: 2014 was prepared by the Working Group BAS/TC 3/WG 1, Conformity assessment and accepted by the Technical Committee BAS/TC 3, Quality management and quality assurance, and published in the Bulletin of the Institute for Standardization 2015-1/2.
