BAS EN 590: 2014 , Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods, EN 590: 2013/AC: 2014)

A new 7th  edition of BiH standard BAS EN 590: 2014 has been published as bilingual publication in Serbian and English language, and was adopted by translation method of EN 590: 2014, Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods, with the Correction EN 590: 2013/AC:2014 included.

EN 590: 2013 and the Correction EN 590: 2013/AC: 2014 was prepared by the European Technical Committee CEN/TC 19, Gaseous and liquid fuels, lubricants and related products of petroleum, synthetic and biological origin, the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands Standardization Institute).

This standard specifies requirements and test methods for marketed and delivered automotive diesel fuel. It is applicable to automotive diesel fuel for use in diesel engine vehicles designed to run on automotive diesel fuel containing up to 7% (V/V) of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME).

Significant technical changes between this European Standard and the previous edition are:

• Inclusion of the revised EN 14214 FAME specification.
• Specific requirements concerning the limitation of use of methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) as required by the EC have been incorporated.
• Addition of the Fuel Ignition Tester (EN 16144) as an alternate test method to the CFR engine test.
• Addition of Simulated Distillation by gas chromatography (GC), EN ISO 3924, as an alternate test method to distillation by EN ISO 3405.
• Introduction of the improved EDXRF determination technique for low sulfur contents, EN ISO 13032, in replacement of EN ISO 20847;

BAS EN 590: 2014 also contains the National Annex which defines national requirements for:

• sampling
• marking of dispensing pumps and
• climate dependent filterability;

 
BAS EN 590: 2014 was prepared by BAS/TC 11, Petroleum and petroleum products, and was published in the Bulletin  of Institute for Standardization of BiH no. 2014-1/2. This standard is available for a fee of 79 BAM.
