New edition of BAS EN ISO 19011:2015

A new, fourth edition of BiH standard BAS EN ISO 19011: 2015, Guidelines for auditing management systems has been published. The standard has been adopted by the translation method of the European standard EN ISO 19011: 2011, Guidelines for auditing management systems, which is identical to the international standard ISO 19011: 2011. The standard has been adopted by Bosnia and Herzegovina technical committee BAS/TC 3, Quality management and quality assurance.

BiH standard BAS EN ISO 19011: 2015 provides guidance on auditing management systems, including the principles of auditing, managing audit programme and conducting management system audits, as well as guidance on the evaluation of competence of individuals involved in the audit process, including the person managing the audit programme, auditors and audit teams. This standard is applicable to all organizations that need to conduct internal or external audits of management systems or manage an audit programme. The application of this standard to other types of audits is possible, provided that special consideration is given to the specific competence needed.

This standard gives the basic principles of auditing, that should help to make the audit an effective and reliable tool in support of management policies and controls, by providing information on which an organization can act in order to improve its performance. Adherence to these principles is a prerequisite for providing audit conclusions that are relevant and sufficient and for enabling auditors, working independently from one another, to reach similar conclusions in similar circumstances.
