With the publication of international standards from the ISO 14040 series, investigators now have powerful tools to carry out more precise analysis of the whole life cycle of the product. The results of the life cycle assessment can provide guidance to policy makers based on which they can encourage options more friendly to environment and discourage those that cause more environmental damage. Organizing workshop on this subject the Institute for standardization wanted to rise environmental awareness of society.
