Chemical Analysis of the Solid Fuels Ash

BAS Technical Committees initiated a process of reviewing the original national standards, no later than five years after its publication, in order to determine whether there are still reasons for their application, or whether their provisions are still in line with the intended use.

BAS Technical Committees reviewed the published original BiH standards and made recommendations for their approval, revision or withdrawal.

At the 23rd session of BAS/TC 27, Mining, members of the Technical Committee reviewed the following original BAS standards from its work areas, namely:

BAS 1008: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of the chemical composition of the ash - Basic provisions

BAS 1009: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of silicon dioxide (SiO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1010: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of barium oxide (BaO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1011: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of iron oxide (FeO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1012: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of titanium dioxide (TiO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1013: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of aluminum oxide (AlO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1014: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of calcium oxide (CaO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1015: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of magnezium oxide (MgO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1016: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of manganese oxide (MnO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1017: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of sodium oxide and potassium oxide (NaO and KO) in solid fuels ash

BAS 1018: 2003, Methods for analysis of coal and coke - Determination of sulfur trioxide (SO) in solid fuels ash

Members of the Technical Committee concluded that it is necessary to conduct a comparative analysis of the ashes from one sample in different laboratories, in order to identify possible deviations and consequently reach a unique conclusion about the applicability of the standards for chemical analysis of the ashes.

According to this, it is essential that, within 30 days, laboratories submit their opinion on the applicability of the above standards to the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
