From 26 to 29 November 2013, in Fojnica, a 2nd Workshop on “Regulation of standardization system, codification and quality control in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH” was held and was organized by the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense. The workshop was attended by representatives of the NATO Headquarters, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the basis of the Agreement on business and technical cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Institute for Standardization, joint activities have been initiated in order to strengthen the defense system of BiH and integration processes aimed at the accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO.

On behalf of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the workshop was attended by Mirjana Sucur, head of the standardization department in the field of IEC/ITU/CENELEC/ETSI and Miljan Savic, expert in the field of standardization for ISO/CEN.

Within the workshop three working groups was established, namely:

• Working Group l for standardization, which was responsible to draft a proposal of Rulebook on standardization in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
• Working Group II for codification which was responsible to draft a proposal of Instruction on codification in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
• Working Group III for quality control, which was responsible to draft a proposal of Instruction for the quality control of class III material in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Through discussions and proposals the representatives of the Institute actively participated in the drafting of legal documents that will be applied in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
