40th ISO General Assembly and 51st DEVCO Meeting

40th  ISO jubilee General Assembly and 51st  DEVCO Meeting were held in the capital city of Germany, Berlin from 17 to 22 September 2017. The host of this year's special event, was the German Institute for Standardization (DIN), which celebrates 100 years of its existence. At the same time, ISO celebrates 70th anniversary of its founding in London.

 

Since its founding, this organization has grown and developed, and although the need for cooperation, consensus and finding a common base remained invariable building elements of ISO processes this also resulted in many changes and challenges in the standardization development pathway. That is why this year's meeting is dedicated to the future of standardization, discussions on new challenges and their solutions, and the exchange of best practices among ISO members from around the world. The goal is to jointly prepare people and the international standardization community for upcoming changes. All this is reflected in the theme of this year's ISO week: “Open minded. Open for change”.

 

During this year's session of the Committee for Developing Countries (DEVCO), several workshops were held: Standards, regulations and public policy; The role of the NSB in building the national quality infrastructure (NQI) – focus on conformity assessment; ISO governance and policy issues of interest to developing countries.

 

 

 

Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by the Director and Deputy Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Aleksandar Cincar and Mr. Borislav Kraljević.
