3rd Balkan Conference on Standardization

Third Balkan Conference on Standardization was held in Montenegro resort Tivat from 25 to 26 September 2014. The Conference was hosted by the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro (ISME), and was attended by representatives of the Institutes for Standardization of Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Turkey, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Mr. Francisco Verdera Mari from the European Committee for Standardization - CEN. Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by Mr. Aleksandar Cincar, Director of the Institute and Mr. Borislav Kraljević, Deputy Director.

 

On the first day of the conference representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro held a presentation on “Cooperation between national standardization bodies and university centers regarding the exchange of experiences on standards”. Also, two round tables were held that were dedicated to the new EU legal framework for standardization - EU Regulation 1025/2012 concerning the exchange of experiences regarding the involvement of stakeholders in the standardization system. Presenter at the first roundtable was Mr. Francisco Verdera Mari, Director Strategic Partnership at CEN/CENELEC, and was moderated by Mr. Miran Škerl from the Croatian Standards Institute. Presenter at the second roundtable was Mrs. Marjetka Goodfield Vidali from Slovenian Institute for Standardization, and was moderated by Mrs. Konstanca Dedja, from Albanian General Directorate of Standardization.

On the second day of the conference three round tables were held and the first was dedicated to the CEN/CENELEC Guide 28 - Guidelines for the public access of Eurocodes and their National Annexes and Harmonized European Standards under the Construction Products Regulation; the second to national practices and issues related to standards and public procurement and the third round table to electronic sales of standards - practices and the use of the XML language. Presenter at the first roundtable was Mr. Francisco Verdera Mari, and moderator Mr. Ljupčo Davčev from the Standardization Institute of the Republic of Macedonia. At the second roundtable Mr. Ivelin Burov from the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization gave a keynote address, and moderator was Mr. Aleksandar Cincar (BAS). The third roundtable presenter was Mr. Akif Sesli from the Turkish Standards Institution, and the moderator, Mr. Ivan Krstić from the Institute for Standardization of Serbia.

 

Host of the 4th Balkan Conference on Standardization 2015 will be the Croatian Standards Institute (HZN).
