13th Annual Meeting of CEN and CENELEC

13th annual meeting of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) was held in the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh from 20 to 22 June 2017. The host of the meeting was the British Standards Institute (BSI). The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by the Director Mr. Aleksandar Cincar.

 

 

On the first day, a meeting of the Administrative Boards of CEN and CENELEC was held, and on the second day the General Assemblies of these organizations. On the third day, a special program “Standards Matter” was held, which included a series of debates, workshops and exhibitions dealing with the main topics and challenges that we are facing today, such as:

 

 

1. How can standards equip innovators in the digital economy?
2. How will standards empower smart citizens and support a sustainable society?
3. How will the creation of standards evolve meet future challenges?
4. How can standards further support global economic growth?

 

 

This event brought together industry and standards makers who discussed how standards can be used to accelerate innovation, enhance business potential, and above all improve people's lives.

 

 

The next annual meeting of CEN and CENELEC will be held in 2018 in Slovenia.
