Term (EN)relative response factor (for an FID)
Definition (EN)The relative response factor Ki is calculated as the ratio of the carbon number of the reference component to the carbon number of a particular sample component. Thus if the reference component is n-butane, then the relative response factor for C7 components in the sample (heptane isomers, methylcyclohexane, toluene, etc.) is calculated as Ki = 4/7= 0,571
