Successful long-term cooperation between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of East Sarajevo and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH)
On October 7, 2025, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of East Sarajevo between the Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Aleksandar Todorović, and the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, PhD Božidar Popović. The discussion was focused on more active involvement of representatives from academia and industry in the work of the Institute’s Technical Committees, as well as on the implementation of new artificial intelligence–based tools aimed at the digital transformation of standardization processes.
The long-standing cooperation between these two institutions is based on mutual trust and a shared strategic understanding of the importance of standardization. For many years, it has produced measurable results in improving standardization processes, advancing educational activities, strengthening research capacities, and connecting academic knowledge with the practical needs of the economy. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of active participation of faculty representatives in standardization processes, ensuring that future experts acquire the competencies necessary to contribute to the development of modern technological solutions and internationally recognized standards. As part of this cooperation, faculty representatives and students regularly visit the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they have the opportunity to learn about the processes related to the adoption of standards, as well as practical examples of their implementation in industry and the public sector. These visits represent an important form of professional training and serve as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and professional practice.
