This standard does not apply to changing units, and testing methods for the assessment of aging, degradation, and electrical functions are not included. Also, the standard does not apply to the strength and durability of any storage features.

BAS EN 581-3: 2018 specifies mechanical safety requirements and test methods for outdoor tables used by adults for camping, domestic and contract use without regard to materials, design/construction or manufacturing processes. It does not apply to street furniture. With the exception of stability tests the standard does not provide assessment of the suitability of any storage features included in the tables. The standard also does not include requirements for the durability of castors/wheels and height adjustment mechanisms, as well as requirements for the resistance to aging and degradation caused by light, temperature and moisture.
