Regional Cooperation: Visit of Representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH) to the Croatian Standards Institute (HZN)

From November 4 to 5, 2025, representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH) visited the Croatian Standards Institute (HZN).

The purpose of the visit was to exchange experiences and good practices in standardization work with representatives of HZN, a long-standing member of CEN and CENELEC.

On the first day of the visit, discussions were held on the implementation of Regulation (EU) No. 1025/2012 and Regulation (EU) No. 2022/2480 in standardization work, the working procedure of Technical Committees and the benefits for TC members, participation in the work of international/European technical bodies, cooperation with governmental bodies in the development of technical regulations that refer to standards, as well as reporting to European standardization organizations on the adoption of European standards.

On the second day, the topics discussed included the digitalization of standardization, copyright issues, methods of standard sales, as well as experiences in translating standards and using the translation tool TRADOS.

It was concluded that such cooperation and communication between the two institutions, aimed at exchanging experiences and good practices, should continue in the future.

The visit was very useful. All newly acquired experiences will be used to further improve standardization activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ISBIH delegation consisted of: Tihomir Anđelić, Head of the Department for General Standardization; Zvjezdan Šehovac, Head of the Department for Electrotechnical Standardization; Stana Buha, Senior Associate for Standardization; and Željka Popić, Senior Associate for Conformity Assessment.
