In order to enhance regional cooperation in the field of standardization, on April 23, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Skopje between the Institute for Standardization of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Aleksandar Todorović, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mr. Dževat Kicara, Director of the Institute for Standardization of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The cooperation will include the exchange of information, knowledge, experiences, and joint activities in the fields of standardization and conformity assessment, including:

·         Implementation and exchange of standards and standardization documents,

·         Organization of standardization activities,

·         Use of information technology in the development of standards and databases,

·         Exchange of experiences in the area of conformity assessment according to national standards and those identical to European and international standards,

·         Mutual information about certification systems and procedures,

·         Application of the mark of conformity with standards.

The Memorandum also provides for the establishment of periodic/annual cooperation programs on specific projects, as well as the possibility of establishing a joint working group for the implementation of the Memorandum.

On this occasion, a working meeting was also held, attended by Mr. Dragan Brković, Deputy Director of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Tatjana Bojanić, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, and Mr. Zoran Glomazić, Director of the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro. The meeting focused on the current activities of these institutions and opportunities to further enhance cooperation.
