8th Balkan Standardization Conference

The 8th  Balkan Standardization Conference was held in Montenegrin city Tivat, from 30 September to 2 October 2019. The conference was organized by the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro and the Municipality of Tivat, and was opened by the  Minister of Economy of the Government of Montenegro Dragica Sekulić.

 

The purpose of the conference was to exchange experiences, information and new ideas in the form of panel discussions on the financial stability of national standardization bodies by introducing new activities and services, cooperation on regional projects, cooperation of national standardization bodies and authorities, Eurocodes and National Annexes, cooperation of national bodies for standardization and small and medium enterprises.

 

In addition to the representatives of the host, Montenegro, the conference gathered representatives of national standardization bodies of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Moldova, Romania, Northern Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, and Kosovo, which participated as an observer.

 

 

Representatives of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Mr. Henry Cuschieri, Head of Membership and External Relations, and European Standardization Organizations CEN and CENELEC, Mr. Ashok Ganesh, Director of Market Perspectives and Innovation, also attended the conference.

 

Next conference will be held in Romania in 2020.
