BIM4Gov Project meeting was held

The third meeting of the Interreg Europe project “BIM4Gov – Building Information Models for Complex Economic Procedures and Data-Based Permits” was held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, on 29 and 30 September 2026. The meeting was hosted by the Estonian project partner, the City of Tallinn. Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by EDA – the Enterprise Development Agency Banja Luka, as a project partner, and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH), as an Associated policy authority. ISBIH was represented by Tihomir Anđelić, Head of the Department for General Standardization.

On the first day, a partner meeting was held at which the participating countries discussed project progress, good practices and upcoming activities. A workshop on the initial implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the building permit process was also held which was led by John Spillane from the University of Limerick, Ireland. Christopher-Robin Raitviir, Head of Digital Construction at the City of Tallinn, gave a detailed presentation on Estonia’s BIM-based building permit system. The first day concluded with a study visit to the e-Estonia Briefing Centre, where participants learned about the development of Estonia’s digital government.

On the second day, a conference was held at the National Library of Estonia, attended by nearly 50 participants. The BIM4Gov project and the experience of Estonian experts in implementing BIM were presented at the conference.

The project aims to improve the use of BIM in public administration by facilitating the exchange of good practices among partners. This is expected to shorten processing times and reduce the costs associated with issuing building permits, which is of great importance to all stakeholders.
