First Meeting of the BIM4Gov Project
The first meeting of the Interreg Europe project “BIM4Gov – Building Information Models for complex economic procedures & data based permits” was held in the Spanish city of Barcelona on 16 and 17 September 2025. The host was the partner from Spain, the Office for Business Management of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented in this project by EDA – Enterprise Development Agency Banja Luka, as a project partner, and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH), as an associated policy authority. ISBIH was represented at this meeting by Tihomir Anđelić, Head of the Department for General Standardization.
On the first day, a partners’ meeting was held where each participating country presented a brief overview of the state of BIM implementation. The ISBIH representative presented ISBIH’s work in the context of the link between BAS standards and BIM. During the first day, participants also discussed future working methods and project reporting.
On the second day, a conference nearly 90 participants attended the conference. The BIM4Gov project was presented, experiences from experts from Estonia and Germany in BIM implementation were shared, and two panel discussions were held regarding the current state of BIM technology as well as the partners’ experiences and expectations regarding its application.
The aim of this project is to contribute, through the exchange of good practices among partners, to the improvement of BIM use in public administration, thereby reducing processing time and lowering the costs of issuing building permits – a matter of great importance to all stakeholders involved in the process.
