5th Energy Summit was held in Trebinje
Director of the Institute for Standardization of BiH, Aleksandar Todorović, attended the 5th Energy Summit which was held in Trebinje from March 20 to 22, 2024. The three-day event under the slogan „Energy connectivity of the Western Balkans” brought together the most eminent energy experts from the region.
More precisely, the three-day Summit gathered around 1,000 participants from 11 countries, as well as representatives of 200 companies.
According to the organizers, this year's Summit is the most comprehensive and diverse in terms of content, with significant topics including the expansion of renewable energy sources as a pathway towards the end of the fossil fuel era.
During this Summit, seven panel discussions and three discussions with two speakers were held, covering the most significant topics in the field of energy, such as the energy connectivity of power utilities in the region and the construction of large-capacity renewable energy facilities.
On the first day of the Summit, after the ceremonial opening, a panel discussion was held on the integration of renewable energy sources into the grid and expanding of energy grid capacities.
On the second day of the Summit, topics included the electricity market, trading on exchanges and a panel discussion on gas as a transit fuel until 2050, while on the third day, panel discussions were focused on rooftop solar power plants.
