A second seminar on Eurocodes and their practical application in academic education in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held

As part of the implementation of ČRA-ÚNMZ-ISBIH project “Strengthening the capacity of national quality infrastructure for standardization and assessment of construction products in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ISBIH) in cooperation with the Czech Development Agency, Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMZ), the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Sarajevo organized a seminar on Eurocodes and their practical application in academic education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The seminar was held on November 16, 2021, in the hybrid mode, i.e. live and via videoconference (Zoom). The event was attended by 75 participants.


The seminar was intended for students and professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Sarajevo in order to raise awareness of the importance of Eurocodes, their better application in the education of students, future engineers, and to gain new knowledge about the importance of applying Eurocodes in modern construction.


The aim of the seminar was to answer the participants’ basic questions about standardization, European standards for Eurocodes, application of Eurocodes in the education of future civil engineers and architects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic, and application of Eurocodes in public works in BiH.

Lecturers at this seminar were: professors from Sarajevo and Prague, a representative of a design company and ISBIH employees.

The seminar was very successful. It was the second out of four seminars that will be organized during the realization of this project for students and professors from the construction field.
