The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted, by translation method, the new BAS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2026, Conformity assessment — Requirements for bodies performing inspection.

BAS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2026 specifies requirements for the competence and impartiality of bodies performing inspection, and for the consistent operation of inspection activities. Its application contributes to the reliability of inspection results and strengthens confidence in conformity assessment activities.

The new edition represents a comprehensive technical revision, adapting the standard’s requirements to current conditions for carrying out inspection activities, technological developments and changes in the international conformity assessment system.

The new edition is particularly important for accredited inspection bodies, bodies preparing for accreditation, and organizations carrying out inspection activities in regulated and non-regulated fields.

The standard was prepared within the scope of Technical Committee BAS/TC 3, Quality Management and Quality Assurance.
