The Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through its Technical Committee BAS/TC 30, Electric cables, has developed an original standard for power cables of rated voltage 300/500 V BAS 1058: 2022, Energy (Power) cables with PVC insulation and PVC sheath of rated voltages 300/500 V. The standard was developed at the proposal and initiative of the representatives of electric cable manufacturers from BiH. ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8242 was used as the basis for the development of this original standard.

This standard specifies general requirements for PVC insulated and PVC sheathed cables for fixed installation. The cables are designed for rated voltages U0/U of 300/500 V. They are used for installation in dry and wet rooms. They are laid in, on or under plaster, in walls or concrete (not in the case of watering), without special mechanical protection. They are suitable for outdoor use (only if the cable is protected from direct sunlight). Temperature conditions:

-        maximum operating temperature of the cable conductor: 70 ° C.

-        cable operating temperatures: from -15 ° C to +70 ° C

•       ambient temperature during laying: from -5 ° C to +70 °

• short-circuit current temperature: max +160 ° C/5s.

 The original BAS 1058 standard should be used in conjunction with the BAS EN 50525-1, which sets out general requirements.
